ChatGPT browser extension

Example user scenario for “Export to Filecoin”

So how I use chatGPT is similar to how I use a search engine. Meaning I have a conversation usually about a single or related topic and I get a lot of information back. When I want to start researching a new topic, I reset the thread in order to reset the context of the chatbot.

I could copy-paste the previous thread in order to save my conversation, but it’s clunky (formatting is messed up and hard to understand later).

The extension would add a button to the page “export to Filecoin”, which saves the conversation in some sort of well-formatted JSON/markdown.

Justification for why it could win a Filecoin-themed hackathon

  1. Relevance to actual users - I think ChatGPT is one of the fastest growing software products of all time (something like 1mil new users in less than a week). And there’s likely a big overlap with crypto users (early tech adopters)
  2. Aligns with the Filecoin mission - fill Filecoin with useful data. ChatGPT conversations are clearly very useful/valuable, otherwise the service wouldn’t be offered for free. The training data is valuable to OpenAI
